Background

At the start of all this, I wanted to create an identity for my professional creative self. I started using the moniker squwetchy as an artistic pen name, as one does, and as I was using it I was also gradually turning Squwetchy into a kind of personal brand.

The name itself doesn’t mean anything in particular, tho.

Originally, I just liked the sound of it. A little bit sketchy. A little bit skewed. A little bit tricky to put your finger on exactly what I was doing artistically so keep looking. (It also doesn’t hurt that it’s 100% unique and completely made up so that the SEO is incredible when people search for the name squwetchy. This wouldn’t be the case if I just used a more generic name, or even just my own name. Hard to go back on a sales pitch like that.)

The “CO” could mean a lot of things. I initially tagged it on because I am trying to work in a professional capacity here. With that, maybe it means “company” or maybe it means “collective” or maybe it means I’m only half as “cool” as I want to be. I’ll let you decide.

Whatever it all means, my name is Brad Salomons and I’m the guy behind Squwetchy Co, a collective, cool, company-of-one who creates through words, media, code, and imagination.
